The 2009 program has been set for MAY 16 17 2009

Our signature event is an advanced driver skill building day for young adults. The number one cause of death and injury to young people is automobile accidents. This will be our 5th year providing a skill building experience for young people, in their own cars, to help save lives

Our Advanced driver skill day is set for May 16-17 2009. This school is open to any licensed driver from 16-21 years old. The applicant needs to have a suitable car, we cannot allow lifted or high profile vehicles, but most street sedans and many 2 wheel drive trucks can qualify. We frequently get donated cars for students whose car cannot qualify for all manuvers, but this is on a case by case basis. Students may share cars up to 2 per car

Saturday moning our students attend a ground school

Saturday aternoon we pair the students up with experienced high performance drivers from racing, rally, and law enforcement, to spend the day in a series of extreme driving experiences. These experiences build from simple panic stops to emergency lane change and accident avoidance drills.

On Sunday we have a fun day autocross, where the students, their instructors, and others can test their new skills in a fun and controlled environment. These events tend to re-enforce the skills from Saturday, and expose the students to a safe and legal way to enjoy their driving skills. The entry fees from this autocross, as well as donations from local businesses pay for our expenses, and all profits over expenses are donated to local school driver’s education programs. To date we have been able to donate over $3500.00 to that cause

To register for this years school you need to CALL 503-861-9288 to get on the mailing list, or send email to: webmaster@nwautosports.org
